BenQ announces new SW240 Colour Accurate Monitor and the revolutionary “Accurate Colour On the Go™” Concept

The World’s First Colour Accurate Monitor designed for Photographers “On the Go”.

BenQ Australia has introduced the SW240, a 24” 99% Adobe RGB colour accurate monitor. Alongside the SW240 Monitor, the team at BenQ Australia are also revealing their exciting new “Accurate Colour On the Go™” prototype. BenQ Australia have been developing a myriad of optional accessories such as; Hard Carry Case, Soft Case, Battery Pack, Soft Shading Hood and Tripod Mounting Kit to help deliver a truly “On the Go” solution for photographers.

We are incredibly excited to introduce the SW240 in alignment with our revolutionary ‘Colour on The Go Campaign’.” said Martin Moelle, Managing Director of BenQ Australia and Vice President of BenQ Asia Pacific. “The SW240 and its ‘On the Go’ optional accessories are a total game changer. It provides photographers accessible, industry leading colour management technology in a package so innovative, it can be utilised outside the studio environment like never before.”

The SW240 is the new little brother to BenQ’s widely popular SW2700PT model. It’s slightly smaller in size, but still a powerhouse in its own right. A 24” 1920×1200 IPS colour accurate monitor offering both 99% Adobe RGB colour space and 10-bit colour display. It utilises an advanced 14-bit 3D LUT to achieve Delta E values of two or better and also supports hardware calibration with BenQ’s exclusive calibration software – Palette Master Elements. The SW240’s new inbuilt OSD hotkey (Colour Mode HotKey) allows you to switch colour modes on the fly, along with the “One-Press” quick release button on the rear of the panel that opens up the world for “Accurate Colour On the Go™”. The SW240 also features ultra slim edge-to-edge bezels, allowing photographers to set up a seamless dual-monitor workspace.

“Camera Electronic are incredibly proud to have worked closely with BenQ Australia to engineer the initial prototype of the SW240’s ‘On the Go‘ components” said Saul Frank, Director of Camera Electronic. “Camera Electronic are honoured to have been a part of bringing this revolutionary product to market.”

Based on the initial findings of the Camera Electronic engineered prototype, BenQ are proud to announce that the production ready “On the Go” prototype is now available. Photographers can now experience a truly mobile studio monitor setup, with the help of exclusive accessories such as; Hard Carry Case, Soft Case, Battery Pack, Soft Shading Hood and Tripod Mounting Kit.

“BenQ SW240 has all the features, accuracy, performance and usability of its bigger brothers (BenQ SW2700PT and SW320), in a smaller form factor.” Said Dan Avila, Professional Travel Photographer. “I had an opportunity to take the prototype of the BenQ SW240 ‘Accurate Colour On the Go’ to a shoot in Yukon in Canada. It’s actually fantastic to have all the operational capacity that I have in the studio out in the field. When BenQ first discussed the concept with me and the other photographers in Yokohama during CP Plus (CP+ Camera & Photo Imaging Show), I was amazed at how fast they moved in response to me and the other photographers looking for something mobile that we can take out into the field.”

Photographing animals can be tricky as they don’t always take directions or stay still. It all comes down to timing and anticipation and the burst mode on my camera helps too. Having the SW240 ‘Accurate Colour On the Go‘ prototype tethered to my camera helps me review my images instantly and allows me to confirm I have the photograph I need before I move onto my next subject. Often animal rescue organisations need their images as soon as possible, so they can best use them to promote an animal for adoption. Editing and colour grading on site means I am able to present the finished photos to my client before I head back to my studio, and enables quicker turnaround and efficient workflow.” Said Alex Cearns, Professional Animal Photographer.

The BenQ SW240 “Accurate Colour On the Go™” Optional Accessories are now in final testing, further information regarding pricing and availability will be released soon. To register your interest, please visit:
