Sennheiser “business as usual” after selling consumer division. Pro not affected.

A few alarm bells were rung today when it was learned that top notch audio company Sennheiser had sold off its consumer division to Switzerland based Sonova.

The Swiss based company has expertise in the hearing aid and cochlear implant industries and so was a perfect fit according to Andreas and Daniel Sennheiser.

The owners qualified this by saying, “In mid-February, we announced that we are looking for a partner for our Consumer business with the aim of concentrating our own efforts on the three business units in the Pro business. Today, just two months later, we have found a partner in Sonova. And we couldn’t have asked for a better partner.

“They not only share our passion for audio and a commitment to the highest product quality, but also very similar corporate values”.

A quick email to Stephanie Schmidt, the Communications Manager Pro Audio has qualified however that the Pro industry sector of video based equipment is not affected by the situation and its “business as usual”.
